Invasive Weed Eradication Control Services

SES has an in-house specialised invasive weed eradication and weed control team, which has experience dealing with both private and public sector clients. Japanese Knotweed is highly invasive causing major structural damage and delays to development and destroying strictly managed areas (e.g. Golf courses). This has led to legislation creating tight legal restrictions; with penalties being imposed when dealing with Japanese Knotweed and other invasive species.

Invasive species are listed on Section 14(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 which states that “if any person plants or otherwise causes to grow in the wild any plant which is included in Part II of Schedule 9, he shall be guilty of an offence”. Anyone convicted of an offence may face a fine of £5,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine on indictment.

SES also provides a comprehensive weed control service; dealing with all types of noxious weeds on a commercial level. Services include clearing and spraying of sites e.g. thorn bushes.
