Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment

A Code homes are built to the standards set in the Breeam Code for Sustainable Homes (CFSH) guidance document. The CFSH looks to build more energy and water efficient homes that produce fewer carbon emissions and are better for the environment. SES has extensive experience preparing code reports in relation to the Ecological Criteria (Eco 1 -5). Our approach is to maximise the amount of credits available to our clients, whilst achieving real ecological gains.

The Role of an Ecologist in a Sustainable Homes Assessment

To undertake a CFSH report an SES ecologist would visit the development site and would record information on the habitats and species present, plus the potential for rare or protected species. We would then produce a report that comments on each of the ecological criteria and highlights which credits can be achieved and where ecological enhancements could be undertaken.

School Environmental Targets and BREEAM

BREEAM Education helps schools and further education colleges to set environmental targets for new and refurbished education buildings. It also serves as a useful tool for designers by demonstrating the environmental performance of their designs. Assessments can be carried out at the design stage and verified post construction for primary and secondary schools and further education colleges including the following:
